Airservices is a government-owned corporation providing safe, secure, efficient and environmentally responsible services to the aviation industry. We manage air traffic operations for around 75 million passengers on more than three million flights every year.

Technical trainee

Technical trainees are able to gain industry-recognised qualifications in operating and maintaining equipment delivering air traffic control, aviation telecommunications, radar and radio navigation services.

We require technical trainees to become part of our highly skilled technology support team. This team supports Airservices in:

  • air traffic control services
  • aviation telecommunications services
  • radar services
  • radio navigation services.

The training

Training is conducted at the TAFE NSW Riverina Institute in Wagga Wagga where you will complete a two-year Diploma of Engineering – Electronics and Communications. The course includes trade specific curriculum and access to aviation equipment including instrument landing systems and radars. Trainees will have opportunities to put what they have learnt into action, undertaking work in their chosen field with Airservices during holidays and study break.
