The training

If you are selected, you will commence your training and employment at the same time. Training is conducted at the TAFE NSW Riverina Institute in Wagga Wagga where you will complete a two-year Electronics and Communications Engineering UEE50511. This qualification is an aviation-specific diploma and most of the modules were designed specifically for Airservices. In other years, the diplomas on offer may have had a different focus.

The course includes trade-specific curriculum and access to aviation equipment, including instrument landing systems and radars. Here you will have the opportunity to put what you have learnt into action, undertaking work with Airservices during holidays and study breaks.

During your time at Wagga Wagga you will have access to training facilities not found elsewhere. The work experience and practical components are also completed within Airservices facilities.
