Airspace procedures during 2018 Commonwealth Games

The 2018 Commonwealth Games (GC2018) will be hosted on the Gold Coast from 4–15 April 2018. Over 6,600 athletes and team officials from 70 nations and territories will participate in the 11 day sporting and cultural event.

In support of the event, Airservices has been involved in the development of aviation plans in consultation with Australian and Queensland State Government agencies to establish airspace measures to ensure that the appropriate level of airspace security exists.

Detailed procedures for safe operation within this airspace are outlined within the published AIP Supplements 145/17183/17 and Aeronautical Information Circular (AIC) H10/18  (supersedes AIC H04/18) which can be located in the Aeronautical Information Package. Additional information about restricted airspace can be found in the airspace procedure guide.
