New towers Stage 1 – Rockhampton

Construction on a new air traffic control tower in Rockhampton began in August 2010 and will replace the current tower which has been in use since 1961. The new tower is expected to be operational by mid-late 2012.

The 5-storey tower will be fitted out with the latest technology with associated plant and equipment at an elevated ground level.
