How to apply

Due to the current uncertainty and restrictions on gatherings and travel we have decided to cancel the current Recruit Course (RC) 96 recruitment process.

We will recommence our recruitment process later in 2020 for RC 97 with successful candidates expected to commence their training in March 2021.

Intakes for each Recruit Course is determined by operational requirements within ARFFS. In general recruitment for new recruits takes place around one to two times per year.

To be considered you will need to have ready (and attach to your application):

  • Current Manual driver’s licence or Heavy Rigid licence and;
  • Year 10 and/or Year 12 High School Certificate (international qualifications that have been converted to the equivalent Australian qualification may also be accepted) or Bachelors/Masters and;
  • Proof of residency/citizenship documentation – Birth Certificate, Passport and;
  • Current copy of your CV.

We encourage you to have these ready in advance as late applications or submissions without these attachments will not be accepted and your application will not progress beyond initial stages.

All supporting documents (except for your CV) when uploaded with your application, need to be a certified copy.  If non-certified copies are uploaded your application will not progress.
