Airservices is Australia's air navigation service provider - we provide air traffic control, aviation rescue and fire fighting and air navigation services.

Aeronautical Information Management

Since 1924 Airservices and its predecessors has provided comprehensive aeronautical information to meet the needs of the aviation industry and fulfil international aviation convention obligations (Annex 4 and 15). Our aeronautical information management team provides:

  • A comprehensive range of information products for Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSP’s), commercial and private pilots to ensure the safety and efficiency of each and every flight.
  • A world class Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) ensuring nation states meet their obligations under the Chicago Convention in the most cost effective manner.

Accurate, reliable and flexible aeronautical information is a vital component of modern air navigation. Airservices aeronautical information services cover preparation, processing and handling of:

  • static data – such as: the definition of airspace, waypoints and air routes; the location and character of navigation aids, frequencies and obstacles; and the physical characteristics of airports and geography and,
  • dynamic data – such as: weather and other conditions that impact flight planning and operations; and other variations to the aforementioned static data

The ICAO AIS to AIM Roadmap

In the proposed changes to Annex 15, Airservices will be focusing towards a data centric environment where the future platform will deliver electronic data that is accurate, of the required resolution, has integrity, is timely, is complete, is traceable, and is of the required format (Annex 15).

Consolidating Aeronautical Information

Airservices want you to be part of our journey of transitioning from publication/product-centric to data-centric. In this journey, we recognised the first step is to consolidate all AIP related information in order to provide a better service and your feedback is welcomed and appreciated.

Please visit the website often as changes to the products will be phased incrementally.
